Another lace shawl! Only three more and my Christmas knitting will be done. This one is a birthday gift for my boss, Maria. It’s my first beaded project, and I was hesitant about putting too many beads on it. I didn’t like the weight they added and also was afraid it would look gaudy. I used only about a quarter of the beads charted. This yarn looks gray in low light, but in daylight it has a smoky lavender color that I love. The beads are size 6 Czech glass beads in a mix of shades called Amethyst.
Slim, that is just beautiful! I can picture the color you describe–smokey lavender. I like! I see in your notes that the color was called “taupe”. I thought taupe was a tan-like color. Hummmh, maybe it is similar to khaki, in that there can be more than one shade of it. I like your judicious use of the beads. I’ll bet the color of them is lovely too, but it is hard to get a good picture of those subtle colors.
we know that you are a master of these shawls. But this one is a real winner again!
I do check out the pattern - now that I started my first real lace scarf myself. I am far from your master status, but we all have to give it a try, don’t we?
