I was truly blessed with the gift of a lovely red yarn, called Art Fibers “Kyoto”. My Rav knitting buddy (knitwitmom) and I met at my SeaTac airport during her 5 hr layover last month. I surprised her with some sterling silver/swarovski crystals stitch markers…she surprised me with this fantastic yarn. I’d never heard of it. It’s only available in San Francisco…but I think you can order it online, too.
Anyway, it was a real search to find the right scarf pattern. Finally decided on “Liesel”…but only knit half the repeat in width. I saw projects under “Liesel” (at Rav) that gave me the idea. Some knitters knit 3 repeats in width, making it almost shawl-like.
That yarn and color are beautiful! Looks so soft. The pattern looks similar to the one in the “comfort shawl” I posted but your yarn shows it off a lot better I think.
very nice and perfect work as ever!
I did print the pattern. Maybe I get to make a scarf from it some day soon. A double repeat would make me happy with this pattern I think. But your single makes a very neat piece for that yarn!
I think you’re right. A double repeat is the way the pattern is designed. But I didn’t want a 12" wide scarf for this yarn. I wanted a longer, more narrow scarf!
