FO: ladybug baby sweater

i had asked for some advice regarding the antennae on this sweater, so i thought people might like to see how everything turned out! the pattern is baby hoodie at lion brand, and i just improvised the circles on the back and the antennae on the hood.

you can see more photos here on flickr. i sent it to a friend for her six month-old daughter, and she loves it! i think it turned out pretty cute, even if the antennae are a bit floppy

How adorable!!! What great improvisations :cheering:

That is to cute! You did a great job.

Hey, I like the way this little sweater turned out. That will be so cute on a little guy or gal. Are the spots intarsia? They look great. You definintely needed the antennae. So cute.

[COLOR=“DarkOrchid”]This is so cute! I bet the baby looks adorable in it… wonderful job!

Oh my gosh, that is adorable! The ladybug idea is very innovative and it turned out great. Nice work.

That is just too cute! Would love to see a pic of the baby in it!

So cute for a little girl! Very nice work.

Very cute.

That is SO cute - what a great job you did

the spots are not intarsia. when i started on the sweater, i wasn’t sure how many spots i wanted to make, or where i wanted to place them (or even how large i wanted to make them). so i decided to just do the whole sweater in red and then improvise a circle and figure it all out from there. the first circle i made was a pretty good size, so i made a few more and then decided on the placement - i just sewed them on as best i could! if you go to the flickr link in my first post, you can see a photo of the inside of the sweater, which shows that i sewed on the spots.

i just got the OK from the mom to post a link to her photos here - they are on her livejournal, click here to see them!

thanks to everyone for the great comments!!

That came out great!

Margaret, where are you in RI??!! I haven’t been on KH for awhile, so busy at work, so this is the first time I have seen you on here, from RI!!
I live in Newport. Do you go to any LYS’s in RI?

oh this is too cute! I remember when my first granddaughter was a ladybug for her first Holloween, this would have been a great sweater for her to wear on that chilly night!
Great job!
