I know it’s not a knitted object, but it IS knitting related.
It’s a beautiful journal that I made up this week. I printed the pages, follow this kinda tutorial to make the cover out of hardboard (masonite), and bought the ring binding at my local scrapbook store.
I made DH help me in the garage today. He’s the best!!! :happydance:
I live in the detroit area too! :happydance: My favorite LYS’s are Indigo Rose in Sterling Heights, Sweet Celeste in Mt Clemens, and the Knitting Room in Birmingham. I hear Have You Any Wool in Berkley is really nice too, but I haven’t been there. I refuse to shop at City Knits now because of how the owner treated/laid off the manager there, who is a member of my SnB.
This is SO cool. I’m going to create one for myself. Unfortunately, I’ve already knit quite a few things and not taken pictures, but will start now. Thanks for the great idea!
If you are all interested, I can post the file that I used to print out the pages…
I’ll do that when I get home. I used some random downloaded font so I’ll have to find a link to that too.
OH. FYI. When i went to buy the metal ring binding, I bought a small one. 5/8". It’s WAY WAY WAY too small to fit around all of the pages I had printed out. I wanted to keep track of about 100 projects and only about 1/3 of my pages fit. I’m going to have to go back and buy a 1 1/2" inch ring.

I haven’t been to many. I’ve been to the Knitting room. They had some really nice yarn. I went to one in Plymouth, but it was really packed and cramped. The one I go to most often is Neighborhood Knits in Dearborn. It’s really small, but the lady is nice.
I’d like to see the page file, if you could… www.paperwishes.com sells similar binding types (melamine that you can paint/paper) called Sarabinders. I may order one- then I just have to print the pages and decorate! (they have other sizes besides the one listed below- I was just looking for an example.)
