FO - Klein Scarf

This is the Secret Santa knitting I did at work during my breaks. I finished it about a week ago but only just managed to get a photo. It’s a great free pattern called Klein Scarf, a very simple four row repeat using nothing more than knit and purl stitches. The yarn is a favourite brand of mine, Shepherd’s Wool by Stonehedge Fiber Mill from right here in (Northern) Michigan (an official US Winter Olympic supplier too!). It’s worsted weight, the exact same type I used for my Rannoch Moor Cowl. I cast on 36 stitches (instead of 32) and it’s 62" long.

That looks wonderful, great work.

It’s beautiful and I really love the color. That’ll brighten up a cold, dreary day.

Lovely stitch pattern, and such a rich, vibrant red! Great scarf. :inlove:

That’s a really cool stitch; great work!

What a wonderful, soft scarf. It’s beautifully knit and in such a warm, rich red. I love it!

The stitch pattern makes the scarf incredibly “bouncy”, it’s very nubby and warm. When it’s rolled or folded up I reckon you could sit on it and it wouldn’t squash down much! Just what you want for snowy 17F days! (-8C)

Just have to say again how much I love the idea of ‘Secret Santa Knitting’! The scarf is a great color and I like the texture, amazing what a four row repeat can look like.

Oooh, this is just gorgeous!! I love that deep, rich red, too!

Really like the pattern and the rich red color.
I downloaded the pattern and it calls for a DK weight, Shepard’s Wool is actually a worsted weight. What size needles did you use and how wide did the 36 stitches turn out to be?
Thinking of making one for a girlfriend who made me one of those pottery yarn bowls.

I used US8 needles, the 36 stitches came out to 6" across. The scarf actually end up reversible as the pattern on the back is just as nice as the one on the front.

Nice work! Great color, too. Shows off the pattern stitch very nicely!
