FO keyhole scarf

I made this scarf for someone whose house we will be staying at for a weekend coming up. She is a teacher at a high school in a small town where the school colors are black and red. I thought this might be nice and cozy warm for all of those freezing cold football games! It is double thick- I think I may make one for myself, too! I used one skein of Homespun yarn and one skein of black fun fur. I used a double strand of Homespun and a single of the fun fur on #15 needles. I didn’t want yarn leftover so I knit until I only had a few inches left. I was inspired by a lady in the Red Hat Society I saw wearing a similar one with purple fur and red yarn.

It almost looks like a really big caterpillar :shifty: :rofling: I love the way you almost can’t see the fun fur - less is more, right?? :thumbsup: It looks great!

:roflhard: Funny- I never saw it as a big caterpillar until you mentioned it! Now that is all I see! :shock: I think what I like about the fun fur is that when you look at the scarf from certain directions it almost looks solidly black, but then you change perspective and it looks almost entirely red. Now- the real question is- will this person that I am giving it to have some aversion to wearing a caterpillar around her neck! LOL!

and maybe i should figure out how to do bobbles and make legs/antenna/eyes? Knit in the round so it’s even more like a caterpillar! :rofling:
looks like a plan to me… I’ll post when i find the right yarn and cast on…
