FO - Irish Hiking Scarf

Pattern: Irish Hiking Scarf

Yarn: Cascade 220 Heathers (about 2 skeins)

Needles: Size US8

This is a belated bday gift for the hubby. He’s tall, so this scarf is loooong. I’m about cabled out for a bit after making this.

I followed the pattern - the only mod I made was slip the first stitch of each row for a neater edge.

Oh, and I blocked it a little. It made a huge difference in the drape and feel of the scarf.

Wow, that is gorgeous!! :notworthy:

OOOOOOOOO!!! :inlove: Thank you for posting this! I have some of that yarn and I was wondering what I would do with it. I love that pattern and it looks great in that yarn. Thank you, thank you, thank you :muah: :muah: :muah:

Wow, that looks so professionaly done. It’s absolutely stunning! :notworthy:

Thanks, everyone! Really, blocking it is what made the difference. The cables all opened up and became much more defined. The pattern is super easy, too!

Beautiful job, Sharon!

:cheering: Ooo that looks great! Did the Cascade feel softer after blocking too?

That’s a beautiful scarf! How long did it take you to finish?

Looks wonderful. Awsome job :cheering:

Thanks again! :muah: :muah:

Cindy - yeah, it softened up some more after the eucalan. It’s super soft now.

dek - this scarf took me about two solid weeks. I would’ve finished quicker if it wasn’t for finals week and writing papers and all that silly nonsense that comes with school.

Thats really beautiful! I love the color too - so warm and cozy. :cheering:

It turned out beautiful!
I like the idea of slipping the first stitch and might just have to try that if I make this scarf again.

beautiful warm color. and, stunning – i’m sure the hubby was thrilled!

Great job! The stitch definition is really great with the yarn you used.
