FO: Hydrangea Shawl - First Lace Project!

Here are some pictures of my finally finished Hydrangea Shawl
:cheering:

It took me 6 weeks of knitting, several days of blocking, 860 yards of yarn (4 skeins of Frog Tree alpaca wool color #204), 2 packages of stitch markers, and 1 pair of #4 bamboo circs.

I’m so glad it’s done and very happy with the results. This was my first attempt at lace knitting and apart from feeling as though I made little to no progress after several hours of knitting, I’m happy I tried it. I’ve even received requests for additional shawls! :ick:

It’s stunning, way to go! :inlove:

Gosh…beautiful radiant colour and what a lovely pattern. Is that you wearing it? Suits you. Well done!

Did you increase the size at all? Yours looks a little bigger depth wise (neck to base) than the original pattern.

Beautiful job! It was well worth the effort.

Its gorgeous!:inlove:
Your’s look prettier than the one in the pattern!!

Thanks everyone!

Yes, Susan P. that’s me wearing the shawl. I didn’t make any changes to the pattern, but I used a different type of yarn than was recommended and went with the size 4 circs when 3’s or 4’s were recommended.

Ah…that small yarn difference and the larger choice in needles works well I think. It really suits you…you have very good auburn/red highlights in your hair and that is picked up also by the colour choice.

Wowza that is one purdy shawl. Great work.
