FO - hooded toddler sweater

Well, almost finished… there’s supposed to be a front pocket, but I got too frustrated sewing it on, so I took it off. (Any suggestions for tricks to sewing things on STRAIGHT would be welcome!) This pattern is from Lion Brand’s website, and I did it in Sugar n Cream cotton.

Looks great! BRIGHT color - easy to find a child wearing that! Too cute.

Sorry I have no advice on sewing on the pocket - I only love my knitting needles - sewing & seaming and I don’t get along!

oh boy, am I with you on that, sara_jayne - I REALLY don’t like the sewing part.

Wow, that turned out great. You must be proud!

I don’t have any suggestions about sewing the pocket either. When I get to that point I intend on bribing my mother with brownies to get her to do it!

I’m not a big fan of sewing, either, but maybe if you threaded a piece of different colored yarn through a row of stitches then you could follow that as your straight line. Kind of like putting your needle in a destination row but with a tapestry needle and yarn.

The top looks great!

What a cute sweater! Great job!

I have made that exact sweater in a dark green color. I left the pocket off too.

Looks great!!

Great job!

 it! Looks great without the pocket! If you really want the pocket, and it comes out crooked when trying to sew it on straight, maybe you could try to sew it on crooked and it would come out straight!!

:roflhard:

Thanks everyone! And thanks Ingrid for the suggestion for creating a guide line - brilliant! Or, maybe I’ll wait until our Northeast get together in Western Ma in April and get you to do it for me!! (Ha, ha, just kidding.)

Ohh that green is so gorgeous :drooling:

I love it!

Great color!!! What an awesome sweater!!

great color!
