FO: "hearts" preemie blanket and roll brim hat

Okay so tab’s blanket is so awesome that I almost didn’t post this but here’s two items I did for the compassionate KAL…the egg is a great idea to put the hat on…I didn’t take a photo that way but for reference, my hat is about the same size as the one she made. My blanket is 15x15 and made from cotton tots.

btw: the hat way my first ever dpn experience–I used size 3 and Lion Brand’s babysoft yarn. I didn’t do the decreases correctly but it all worked out in the end…

Cristy - They are both adorable! They will be cherished because they were made by hand.

Those look wonderful! I just learned to use DPNs also. (So challenging, but fun!)

The blanket is beautiful and you did a terrific job on the hat! Congrats on learning how to use dpns!

They are both precious! Your manicure is quite nice as well! LOL

Beautiful job! :inlove:
Where can I get the pattern for the blanket?

Thanks!

Lisa

You did such a great job!!! Aren’t you proud of yourself! They are beautiful!

You did such a good job! Both are so precious and I can’t believe that was your first ever time with DPN’s! You are a natural! Thanks so much for knitting these for the Compassionate Knitting Project!

 kimmie

Awwww…thanks guys! I did enjoy using dpns and I am working on one more hat for the project before mailing them off…(on dpns, of course!).

Rosefield: The pattern for the blanket can be found at http://www.frugalhaus.com/scripts/dlblnkt.asp.

Thanks for the comments guys…I forgot how good it feels to post a FO!

A very good job on an especially nice reversible pattern.

Good job with first time DPNs. too.

Oh, psh on you. :stuck_out_tongue: Your blanket is just as awesome as mine, if not more so. I tried that pattern once, but the 20 row thing didn’t suit me… I like simple patterns I can keep in my head. Not to mention some of the rows are insanely complicated, and after having to tink them several times because I’d gotten confused between the K2 P2 and K3 P2, I threw in the towel. Yours looks amazing, and I think it’s easier to see the hearts IRL.
It’s amazing that someone could be able to use such tiny things. Your hat looks just fine, I doubt anyone will notice any trouble you had with decreases.

Great job!

The hat and blanket are both adorable! I LOVE the heart pattern on the blanket!! Congrats on you dpn sucess!

Thanks Tab! I tend to agree with you–I really like that blanket but if ever I got off track it was very hard to get back on. I like patterns I can keep in my head too–this was a trial thing for me…I wanted to try something with some sort of pattern to it.

All I can say is wooooheee look at that counter gleam! Your little hat can see its own reflection!

Great job on the FOs as well.

Wonderful job Cristy! :cheering:

Too cute!! Nice work

LOL–I am a bit of a clean freak…

The blanket is so adorable!!

The hat is so tiny and precious.
