FO Hat for Son in Law

This is the year of the hats for Christmas… This one is a double hat knit all in one piece then folded together. Pattern is Chris that I downloaded awhile ago. I used a provisional cast on and started from the bottom and worked up to the top as that was much easier then starting with 8 stitches and DPNs. Once one part was completed simply went back to the provisional cast on and knit a second one the same way. I have one more on the needles in all black for my other son in law.

That’s a really good looking hat and will be nice and warm. You’re doing a black one? That really is above and beyond.

Fine example (the hat) of a great technique (above).

Beautiful! I’ve used that method, too.

What a great looking hat! Someone is going to be styling - what yarns did you use for this?

The dark brown is a Malbrigo (I don’t have the tag any longer) and the light colored one is Shepard’s Wool made here in Michigan.

Wow! Nice hat! :yay:

And you have another OTN like it in black? All I can say is :notworthy:

Great idea and lovely technique. You have made such gorgeous Christmas gifts all around. Your family is very lucky that this is indeed the year of the hat. Well done!

Good looking hat! I am sure he will love it

Well isn’t that a smart modification you described! Using the provisional cast on to join both sides together! Thanks for sharing that tip with us! The hat looks marvelous, so masculine, so streamlined, so warm! He’ll love it. The perfect man hat!
