This is my first knitted “cardigan”. I actually knitted 3/4 of the body before I decided I hated it. I finished the body and called it a vest :rofling: I have no intention of knitting the arms.
The pattern is Knitty’s Haiku, and it was knit with 12 ply yarn on 5mm needles. I really hated the bottom of it, as the stitches just look untidy on it. I would knit the pattern again, in a softer, lighter yarn and play with the pattern to include some stockinette instead of garter stitch and some ribbing on it as well The constant garter stitch drove me crazy, and I didn’t l;like the effects of the box stitch with the thick yarn.
Did you see the Haiku that I knitted for my dgs last winter? This is the thread: Haiku on Size 13 Needles
(I put size 11 in the post, but I actually worked the sweater with size 13.) Anyway, I did the whole sweater in stockinette stitch, except for the borders in garter stitch. He will be able to wear the sweater again this winter, and I am going to knit a sweater for my dd in the same yarn. Lion has a pattern called 3-Season Sweater that uses the wool-ease thick & quick.
That’s cute! I wasn’t overly thrilled with the pattern, but I thought maybe the yarn I was using didn’t show the pattern to it’s best advantage. Then again maybe it was the pattern. :teehee: I also didn’t like the seaming of the sleeves. I might try it again sometime and alter it a bit.
