Yes, I’m at it again. Yet another pair of Greenaway Fingerless Gloves. The gloves are a very fast knit. I knit one last night while watching TV and the other one this afternoon.
I made these for my friend. She admired the pair I made for a gal at work and commented that she would love a pair in pink. So, silly me ordered a skein of pink yarn. My friend just found out that she has a tumor on her brain stem. She spent part of the week at a research hospital exploring her options and prognosis. She’s a really neat gal with a positive outlook on her situation. I hope this will cheer her up. I had to tend to her dog today while she took a day trip with her husband. I left them in her kitchen, wrapped in tissue paper and ribbon. I love surprises.
The yarn is Alchemy Sanctuary, and the color is Ruby. I modified the pattern slightly by knitting 35 rounds instead of the 28 called for. My friend is tall, and her arms are longer than mine.
This is, hands-down, my favorite pattern. My favorite color was the one I used for Mason’s mom…Platinum. The pattern is super-easy. I think I’m going to be teaching this pattern as part of KnittinMitchie’s online classes. I have one more skein of Alchemy Sanctuary that I’m saving for it (this pair will be for ME).
Oh, and BTW, my friend brought her gloves to work today (we work at the same firm). She’s been wearing them and showing them off to everyone. Makes me smile…cloud9
