I’ve wanted to incorporate this into something since I bought the book (1970/71).
It’s from Barbara Walker’s A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns.
The yarn is Naturally Caron SPA, the color is called Green Sheen.
The size 12 month pullover pattern is my own design.
I’m only in the mental stages of making a hat to go with it.
A castle for a baby whose daddy and grandpa build houses.
The sweater is adorable! The castle pattern is perfect on the pullover. I love the way you added the diagonal design at the top of the ribbing on the sleeves and back – just ties everything together.
I wish my grandchildren would wear pullovers.

Oh WOW and double WOW WOW! This little sweater is incredible! Such a nice design,
and your knitting (and blocking) is impeccable! This is truly inspiring! It’s knitted ART!
Thanks so much, Betty.
I think that might work very well on the back of a cardi.
Awww shucks, thanks Dollyce.
My technique is not as good as it once was, but blocking sure helps to “absorb” some of the tension irregularities.
Lana, that is the most darling baby sweater I have ever seen!
It is absolutely beautiful and you did an amazing job on it. I have loved that castle pattern since I first saw it in the Walker book 2 or 3 years ago; I never would have thought to put it on a baby sweater – it’s perfect.
Beautiful! If you can write out and offer this pattern for purchase, it would probably knock your socks off at the amount of sales you receive. Although there may be a copyright on the castle since you did get it from B. Walker’s book. But if you can make this sweater, you casn easily alter the design to make it your own.
Thank you for the compliments.
I knit really slow and writing out what I’m doing as I knit would slow me down even more.
Besides I do a lot of “unwritten” things I’d never be able to explain. The continual shoulder/neck bands was a new concept and required ripping out several times before I got the look I wanted.
The castle pattern is 50 stitches wide and 74 rows tall. There must be lots of basic straight top set in sleeve patterns it would fit on.
Oh, it’s for my general contractor’s new baby. Her daddy and grandpa build houses, but I knit a castle for her. lol
