Some time ago my son had an awkward landing on one foot, and had to wear a cast for a week. Since it was freezing cold outside, I had to make him a cast sock. He called it Footie, because, clearly, it is an animate object. The cast is off long time ago but Footie is still around, mostly for transporting small animal toys in the car.
That’s a great solution to the cold toes problem, and how nice that Mr. Footie now has a second life as a toy tote. He’s happy (because he’s obviously animate, you know), kiddo’s happy, and I’m sure you’re happy that everybody’s happy!
gawd that’s adorable, he named his sock and made him a character. sorry about his rough landing, but what a loving parent to do that for him. glad it’s gotten a second life, too.
What an adorable project! When I broke my ankle and leg in January of 2012, I was in a walking boot for 4 months. Although Wisconsin isn’t as cold as Nova Scotia, my toes sticking out would’ve been really cold, so I knitted myself a little footie thing, too. Very useful.
