FO: Fetching & My So-Called Scarf

My first post in this section because I finally have something I’m happy to show off. LOL

First off is Fetching. I actually finished these over a month ago, I just never got around to taking a picture until this weekend when I was taking pics of my stash for Ravelry.

These were done with Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in a gray color. They were my first time making gloves so I made a few minor mistakes in the thumb part I think, but they look alright to me.

And here is My So-Called Scarf, well actually it’s for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I used Malabrigo (yummy!!! ) in the Emerald Blue colorway. I am actually really impressed with how this turned out. And I’m happy to say that I didn’t make a single mistake. :woohoo:

Now I just have to get to work on the other three MSCS as well as another scarf that are planned Christmas gifts. As well as pack and move by December 1st. :thud:

The gloves look great!!

And that scarf…WOW, I just love it. It is so perfect looking and your stitches are so even. Just lovely.

Great FO’s. The scarf is amazing. Great work!

Hi Katie
I just love the fingerless gloves and you have used may favourite yarn.
Which pattern did you use? Could you share it please? x

The scarf is lovely. I can’t wait to get my hands on some Malabrigo.

Your Fetchings are great – love the color! Don’t you just love cashmerino!? And the MSCS is beautiful. Gorgeous colors! I made a couple of these last winter and I wish I’d used Malabrigo instead of the Manos called for. Yours looks so soft and warm. Great work!

I love the color of the scarf!!! The fetchings are very pretty…great job :happydance:

You have done a great job on both of them. I’m so tempted to do MSCS but wonder, how many hanks of Malabrigo did it take you and is it a decent length?

:yay::thumbsup:

Great job!!!

Love the cableing on the gloves…

Scarf is beautiful… wow not one mistake, that’s AWESOME!!! :cheering:

Both projects look beautiful!!
On the MSCS, how did you get the side edges to look so even? I tried that pattern and my edges looked very sloppy… thanks

I used this pattern from Knitty. http://www.knitty.com/issuesummer06/PATTfetching.html

I only used one hank of Malabrigo. The scarf is about 4 1/2" x 52 1/2". It’s not super long, but it’s long enough to wrap it completely around my neck once and have plenty extra hanging down on each side. It’s long enough for me.

Pure luck? :teehee: I’m not really sure actually. All I did was tighten the first stitch for each row and then I blocked it using pins every inch down the entire thing. I was pretty impressed myself with how it turned out.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It’s really a boost to hear such nice things. :muah:

Hi Katie

I have just downloaded the pattern for the fingerless gloves from knitty.com
I just happen to have a couple balls of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in my stash!!
I am on night duty tonight so I will take everything with me and get started. Thanks again xx

both projects look great! don’t you just love cashmerino and malabrigo?

I love your gloves and scarf. No mistakes. I’m impressed!!

Very pretty! I love the color of the scarf.

Both projects look super-fine. Someday I’ll have to get some Malabrigo for myself.

Those are both really nice. Great job, and good luck on the rest of the gifts!

Hi Katie! :waving: I just LOVE your work! Fantabulous! Thanks for sharing your knitted artwork with us!

Both projects look great. That scarf is a gorgeous color.
