FO - Entrelac

So do I need a job or what. All I do is sit here surf for jobs and knit and watch my daughter play.

Anyways I have heard so many people talk about Entrelac(?sp) and it looks so neat so I searched on how to do it and found someone who had directions for it all in garter stitch so I tried it and it is easy and fun to do. So I started it today and kept going on it and ended up making it into a purse.

That came out great! :cheering:

That is so cool!! Great job

That is so awesome! Great job! :notworthy:

MommaG. Well done! So, what does Entrelac mean?? What did you line the bag with?

IF you lined the bag that is LOL

That looks great!! What yarn did you use?

Fabulous job!!!

Nope haven’t lined the bag not sure if I will. It may just end a play bag for my daughter. Again I have no idea what the yarn is for sure, I have a bad habit of buying mill ends from Walmart as they are cheap for a one pound bag its five bucks. It feels like a chunky Acrylic it is quite soft. I crocheted my daughter a sweater out of it and I think I have enough left for a hat to match the sweater(Jan what have you done to me I am addicted to making that simple hat you created)

Here is a technical meaning of Entrelac that I found when looking for help with it: The term entrelac means interlaced or ornament composed of interlacing figures and comes from the French. In knitting, it describes a pattern of squares where each square is knit at right angles to its neighbor. The resulting pattern resembles a basketweave pattern. In knitting books, the pattern is also called basket stitch, birch stitch, trellis, lattice stitch, woven lattice, and diamond weave.

Heres a link to the pattern I followed to do it in garter stitch(I think it is usually done in Stockinete Stitch. http://criminyjickets.blogspot.com/2006/07/garterlac-dishcloth.html

Wow! I love it!!

Very pretty. The colors are lovely.

Thanks for the info. I think it very clever that you took a design and made your own item from that. Wonderful. When the pattern says ‘turn’ what does that actually mean? I guess I should ask what needles you used first.

great job!!!

that is great! i made the garterlac dishcloth as my intro to entrelac, and i loved it. your purse is very pretty!

Looks Good :cheering: Really nice job :cheering: :cheering:
