FO: Easter eggs! *now felted*

I am in love with []this pattern](http://www.curlypurly.com/eggs.html)! It is so easy and so fast and so fun! I plan to be making more in different yarns for my boys’ Easter baskets.

The first one I did in Manos Caribe on size 7s. It looks a little wonky in person - kind of like a bumpy pear! I should’ve done it on size 6s, though I think it still would’ve had some bumps b/c of the thick and thin yarn.

The second I did in Malabrigo Indigo on size 6s. I like the size of it better, and it is less bumpy than the first one, though still not as smooth as I would like.

I really want to find out what yarn Curly Purly did hers in. They look so smooth. I have some old WOTA that I’m going to use for some solid color eggs and maybe some striped ones.

One thing I really liked about the pattern was that I had to learn a new increase to do it - Knit Left Loop and Knit Right Loop. I would’ve had no idea what to do (the pattern just said “paired lift increases”) if it hadn’t been for Amy’s awesome page on increases and of course her videos.

It is insane how much I enjoy making these little things. I’m obsessed!

TOO cute!!

The eggs are cute. I should make some for the easter baskets I felted.
I looked at the blog where that pattern came from and she states she used Mosiac Moon yarn.

Cindy

What a cute idea, love it!

How cute!

Those are cute!!! And thanks for the pattern link.

Love the eggs!! :cheering:

How cute! Great idea!

They look great!

OMG! I was at the LYS and they had a basket with knitted eggs in it! I was wondering how they did that! Thanks so much! Your eggs are gorgeous!

KEWL :cheering: :happydance: :cheering:

How cute!!!

I love that egg pattern too! Yours look great. I know that the yarns she used are from Mosaic Moon – my guess is that they are Blue Faced Leicester or Full Belly Farm Organic. http://hyenacart.com/MosaicMoonYarnStore/

This is brilliant! This means that I no longer have to wake up at 4am to hide eggs. We can just have the colored eggs for breakfast and I can hide yarn eggs to find in the morning! YAY!

Thanks for the pattern!

I’m glad y’all like the eggs!

I forgot I had read on curlypurly’s blog that the yarn was Mosaic Moon ; it’s sooo lovely looking.

Cindyloowho, what felted Easter basket pattern are you using? Do you have pics posted somewhere? I’d love to see it!

Here are my more recent eggs, including a felted one. I think I’m doing something wrong, because the tops of the eggs - conveniently tilted away from the camera! - just don’t look right. Maybe I’m doing the decreases wrong, somehow, though I thought I was following the pattern completely.

Very nice! I especially like the felted one. What did you stuff them with?

I stuffed all of them with yarn scraps except for the striped one (I used poly-fill for it). The one that is felted I felted after it was stuffed, and the yarn scraps inside it are all wool and cotton (so they would shrink too). I’m assuming it wouldn’t work well to felt it with poly-fill inside it, unless it was under-stuffed (am assuming poly-fill wouldn’t shrink).

Good idea on the yarn scraps. I have more than a few of those around here!

I love your eggs! I am struggling with the DPNs, but I’m determined to figure it out. A few people gave me some help so we’ll see how it goes.

BTW… Creative Knitting has some adorable felted Easter baskets. I’m going to make one of them for the eggs…assuming I ever get any done. :roflhard:

Those are SO cute!
