This is a little doll I knit for the 4yo I babysit for. She is obsessed with Annie (and Mama Mia LOL) so I gave her Annie hair but she named her Sydney. I used the pattern for the “Airy Fairy” from Zoe Mellor’s Knitted Toys but opted for a dress instead of felt wings. I made the dress from the pattern for a different doll in the book.
That’s so cute and it does look like Annie!
So cute! I have that book, but the hair on the doll looks very different. Please tell me how you did the hair!
Very cute…and creative! I’m sure she will love it!!
You’re right, I didn’t do the hair the same. I had just finished my DDs hat that had curly q tassels and thought, “Hey I could make her hair curly”
So The way I made the hair was to cast on (I think I did 20 or 40?) but you can just do however many you want depending on how long you want your curly q. In the next row you knit into the front and back of each stich (doubling your stitches) and then the next row you bind off. it gives you a curly thing. I didn’t want her white scalp to show through very much so I just went up and down with warn to cover her scalp and make it red and then I stitched the curlies on. I chose to have them attached at top and bottom but you could make them really long and just let them flop around too.
I love her ! The little girl will have hours of fun with Annie:)
