FO: Dog Sweaters

She outgrows them as fast as I can knit them.

Those are adorable! You did a fabulous job on them (I especially love the fair isle one!) and it looks like she loves having a sweater to keep her warm outside :yay:

Those are beautiful as is the pupcakes! :inlove:

Well now if those aren’t the darndest cutest little things! The dog and the sweaters!

So very nice, all of it! She’s a very VOGUE doggy!

Thanks. All it took was setting her out one morning below 40° and then putting her back out with one on, after that she stopped fighting having them put on.

Those are sooooo cute! And incredibly well-made. Love the fair isle and the red one really complements the color of her fur. What a little doggy fashionista. You’re a good doggy daddy!

The sweaters and pup are both adorable! Glad to hear she’s not fighting you over wearing them anymore

Mike, how many pups have loving people whoo knit fair isle sweaters for them? Maybe one? It’s so cute!

We lost one dog last week, and our other one, who is 16 is following closely. We’ve been thinking about getting a Boston, my husband because he was raised with them, and thinks they’re cute, me because I can knit for it. I’m thinking a red vest. Or a smoking jacket type with a really fuzzy collar.

You just keep knitting for your dog,and I’ll watch what you do.

I wouldn’t have done Fair Isle yet except I thought it would last the winter before she out grows it. Now after getting an assortment of adult Dachshund measurements from Ravalry I’m not so sure.

Small dogs are fun to knit for. Her first one was done in a day. The last one didn’t take a full week.

Sorry about your dog. I think my old one is heading in that direction.

Sorry about your dog. I think my old one is heading in that direction.

Thank you, it was unexpected and broke our hearts; we thought we’d have her for awhile after the other one.

Perfect sweaters, and I want to hug the dog! What a cutie!

They are adorable!!! Both the dogs and the sweaters!

Hello, Mike, those dog sweaters are adorable, as is the dog. my grandson has a miniature dachshund (her name is Lucy) and i was thinking of making a sweater for her. Could you tell where you got the patterns? Thanks, linknit41

I make the patterns up as I go along and she grows. She started out as a basic sock leg with a few increases to the body but the next one is going to have to have some Dachshund shaping added for the chest.

There’s this one designed specifically for Dachshunds, it costs $3 but the proceeds go to a rescue. All the Dachshund people on a Dachshund Ravelry forum love it. http://www.flintknits.com/blog/?p=185
You can also find it on Ravelry Ravelry: wurstwärmer pattern by pamela wynne (you may have to join Ravelry to buy it, I’m not sure). I haven’t bought it yet but I plan on it.

Wow, they all turned out beautifully! I see there’s even a hole for the harness rings, what a great idea! Your Dachshund is really adorable (I love the red dapples!) We have a mini-long haired (black/tan) named Lucy (yes, linknits is my Mom-hi Mom! :D) and she would really appreciate these I bet.

The sweaters you made are all so cute, and the fair isle is amazing. Great job!

Mike, those are awesome. She is a very happy camper with those to shield her from the cold.

The coats are really nice. I love the photos of your Springer Spaniel - do you knit for him too?

Jaxhil, I used a sewing machine to make a button hole for the harness. The way I made them it wouldn’t be practical to knit one in because I’m going back and forth for the chest/arm holes at that point. I don’t know if I’ll trust that with the Fair Isle. The Wurstwarmer has instructions if you want to add a ring hole knitted in (I bought the pattern last night).
I love longhair B&Ts.

No borealowl, the Springer acted hot while every human in the hunting group was cold. He won’t even sleep in the bed any more no matter how cold it is. I would’ve knit for him but he wouldn’t have liked cloths at any point, even when he did sleep in the bed there were no blankets on him and he generally scraped them away from under him.

Very nice doggy sweaters. It looks like she even has a little room to grow lengthwise in the red and snowflake ones. Maybe she won’t get any longer. Good work on them.

No such luck. I just noticed it is fitting her properly tonight. Not so much I need to get working on another but I’d better hurry up and get the Wurstwarmer I’m making to her suspected adult size done and start planning one for an in between size.
