FO: Dishcloth

I finished my first crocheted dishcloth. I had trouble figuring out the finishing edging, and it ended up curling in on the sides. It is still cute and functional though.

Well look at that! Now you don’t have to worry about winning my giveaway…you can make your own! It turned out great and looks like it has some great texture to it! Just add in a few more stitches on the sides when you do the border for your next one and see if that takes care of the curling problem. Once it’s washed I bet you won’t even notice!

:cheering: It looks great! I use my crocheted dishcloths everyday, and think they work so much better than the store bought ones. I like the thickness of them. Keep up the good work!

Cute yarn! Sometimes if you don’t allow enough room on the corners, crochet edgings will curl.

Did you ch2 or maybe ch3 at the corners to allow for the turn? If not, that may be why the edging curled. If you did, maybe the stitching was tight?

I did the instructions in the corners correctly I think. I couldn’t really figure out the “chains” on the side edges, so I think I skipped some loops/chains, whatever it’s called…and so it pulled tight and curled in. The chains worked back and forth are obvious, but I still don’t understand how the border works on the side edges. I’ll look for vids on youtube this week to see if I can figure it out.

I do still really like how it came out. It’s soft and cushy, and works great.
