FO: Diminishing Rib Cardigan

When I started this sweater the weather was still cool enough to wear it, but now I may have to wait till fall. The pattern is Diminishing Rib Cardigan from Interweave Knits Spring '09 issue. The yarn is Cascade 220 superwash in colorway 897 - Baby Denim. Not the ideal yarn for the sweater, and next time I’ll use something with better drape. Still, overall I’m pleased. I love the pattern details, such as the tubular cast-on and bind-off, and the slip stitch I-cord edging. I love it!:inlove: It’s on my to-do list.

Beautiful! The color is AWESOME!

What a beautiful sweater! Love the color.

That is gorgeous!!! I love the color.

I think it looks fabulous on you:thumbsup:

It looks perfect!!

Slim, you look like a model in this photo!

This is a very flattering sweater! Love the style, and the color! Well, one nice thing about the Cascade 220 Superwash, you’ll easily be able to wash it!

Yes, add me to the list of SLIM’S FANS!

This is really interesting because I did not think much of the cardie in the mag, but both you and jdee look great in your ones! I think I will have to def reconsider that cardigan! The one on the model was all out of proportion, the neck opening was way too high to start with. Congrats to both you and jdee!!

Love the style and color on you!

Bambi

BEAUTIFUL!!! And it looks GREAT ON you, too! Good color, good fit…NICE JOB!!!

Its gorgeous n nice color

Gorgeous!!! and ditto on looking like a model! Great photo!! What a beautiful soft color - it looks perfect for you!

I love it. I also did not think much of the sweater on the model in the magazine. But yours looks beautiful. I wonder how it would look and feel if knitted with Andean Silk, maybe in Bluebell. Might just give that a try.

Very pretty! Love the color.

I don’t know if any of you read Julia Trice’s blog, but she just posted her review of this pattern along with the modifications that she made.

If you scroll down, it’s the second posting.

Lovely sweater, Slim!

Dollyce, you are way, way too kind! Thanks for your kind words. Because you’re knitting is so professional looking, I wanted to ask you about something, though. As you can see in the referenced photo, there is a hard crease running the length of the sleeve as a result of blocking. I’m wondering how to remove (or avoid) that crease. I thought about rolling a towel and inserting it into the sleeve, then steaming the crease out. Do you think that would work?

[COLOR=“DarkOrchid”]A totally awesome sweater, Slim! Love the colour and the pattern.
