I used yarn that had been in my stash for years…Caron Sayelle…and now I remember why I didn’t particularly like it; the yarn is rather stiff and after washing it stretched and the sweater is a “large” version of a child’s size 10-12. Sweater was made for the elementary school project for We Care - Maine. Color is a pretty dark teal as in the first photo.
That’s pretty. Love the color. You truly are an angel.
Do they still make Sayelle? I have some in an off white that I am sure could qualify as antique. :teehee: It is on the stiff side. Did you dry it in the dryer or lay it flat to dry?
It’s beautiful, Judy. If it doesn’t fit the intended size, it’ll fit the next size up. There’ll be one happy, warm child because of your thoughtfulness. Good going!
My Sayelle came from someone else’s stash who claimed to have gotten it at a yard sale. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it.
IMO you should do yourself a favor and just throw it in the dryer. With fabric softener it will soften up some and will probably be closer to the intended size. That wouldn’t matter so much except that whoever ends up with it will almost certainly put it in the dryer and it will come out smaller and they’ll be disappointed. Just my 2 cents, and in today’s economy we know what that’s worth. :teehee:
I shall take your advice (which is worth far more than 2 cents) and put it in the dryer and see what happens…except I will wait until the new dryer arrives. Using the present one as little as possible as it sounds as if there’s a ton of rocks in it when it starts up.
