FO: Chic Knits Eyelet Cardi

I started this a year ago and put it down over the winter so it’s been a long time coming. The way the pattern is designed it wants to curl on the front edges so I backed it with a ribbon. Unfortunately it still wants to fold over at the ribbon now, but whatever. Not gonna attempt anything now. Overall I like it. Pattern was easy to follow.

This is such a nice design, Jan! Your work and stitches are so perfect! Bonne Marie Burns (Chic Knits) is a great designer. I like this pattern because of its simplicity. Kinda like the Bettna that I’ve knit numerous times!

This eyelet cardigan is a REAL WINNER! Great work!

The closure looks so elegant! I love small details like that. Great work!

Very pretty! It is really lovely. I haven’t visited the Chic Knit site in a while. I should go back there sometime.

DARN!!! You keep perfect tension.

That’s really pretty!

Great job Jan! It turned out wonderful! I would be frustrated with the front edges wanting to turn in too though. The color is beautiful and I love the simplicity of this pattern.

It’s beautiful Jan! Such a pretty color and I LOVE the closure you chose! Over all it’s an elegant sweater!

Your cardi turned out very pretty. You mentioned having a problem with it curling even though there is a garter stitch border on both sides. Have you tried to block it? That should help control it, I would think.

I found and saved a pattern about two years ago that was (from what I remember about it) indentical to this one. However, I later deleted it thinking I would never get around to it. I searched for it and can not find it now. I was going to compare and post the link here as an alternative to this one that you have to pay for.

Thanks everyone! :aww:

It’s funny…I get those “even tension” and “perfect stitches” comments all the time, but of course I see where every loose stitch is!

Lightning… the yarn is a cotton/acrylic blend so the best way to block is to toss it in the washer and dryer which is what I did. Those curling edges can’t be blocked out. I did sew ribbon on the back of the front edges which helped, but didn’t cure it completely. I’m gonna have to be okay with it. I sewed that ribbon on with tiny stitches about 1/8 in apart. :zombie:

Beautiful work! Love the color

Congratulations…this is just beautiful…love the color.

Happy knitting…:knitting:

Oh my, that’s lovely. Great color.

That is beautiful. Darn, how do you get such perfect looking stitches? Love the color too.

Very chic!
