FO: Cabled Lacy Bamboo Top

You learn SO much when you knit the same top twice! I made this a size smaller in red and it fit my daughter, so she got it, but I loved how it turned out and so made one for me in pink.

I started this using [Drops 101-23]( (M), but it really only uses the bottom edge and the neck and sleeves.

Pattern changes: I don’t want open stitches on the bodice of this, so used a Mock Cable Right stitch pattern for the bodice. I skipped the open work across the bust. I also used stockinette instead of reverse stockinette for the top and made the neckline slightly more scooped by doing the neck shaping earlier in the pattern and then picking up more stitches than called for (around the neck) with a US 2 circular and purled from that onto my size 7. I did a 3-needle BO for the shoulder seams and also picked up with the size 2 and purled from that to give a nice distinct purled edge.

I used Madil Eden 100% bamboo yarn–8 balls in Color 624 that I got on clearance at Webs.
While the yarn is somewhat splitty, it has lovely drape and was perfect for this!
