FO: Cabled Earflap Hat 2

I improvised the pattern for this chunky cabled earflap hat using Bernat Roving yarn. The color is called “bark” … it’s a warm brown color that I think will match well with lots of things this winter. I originally began the project with my husband in mind … although now that it’s finished I’m not sure whether he’ll think it’s too “girly”.

Considering this is the first time that I’ve done a project without using a pattern, I’m pretty happy with the overall result. If I end up making another one in the future I might move the earflaps back a couple of stitches. I noted my “pattern” on my ravelry page for next time (or for others’ inspiration).

This is a super hat! Great job! And THANKS THANKS THANKS for giving us directions!
I’m going to copy/paste them to WORD right away! You rock!

I posted a comment in your Rav project page, too!

You did a great job on it! It’s very cute!

Very cute!!

I don’t know… Put a male head in it and it might look quite masculine. It is a great hat!!:woot:

I agree … I’ll see what he thinks once he actually tries it on.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! :muah:

Cool hat! Great job with the pattern!

Great hat! It looks like one that you could both wear. Thanks for sharing your pattern.

Cool hat, I like the flaps close on your face though. It looks like a great fit on you. Thanks for sharing the pattern too.
