If you saw my first hat, you might remember that my daughter snagged it from me and claimed it as her own.
I found another skein of Malabrigo…same color…and decided to make one for myself.

I went down a needle size (to a 7) for the second hat, and what a difference it made! The hat fits perfectly!

I used the same buttons that I used for the first hat. They are simple, but I think that’s best with the color variation.

The decreases were so much easier this time! If you decide to make this hat, I encourage you to look at the Ravelry notes I posted on the first hat. The designer did not make it very clear on how to execute the decreases. Only though numerous emails with the designer (who didn’t really answer my questions) and toying with the pattern did I figure out what to do.

Regardless, it’s a lovely, stylish hat that I will be proud to wear out and about!
I really like this style hat with the buttons. I have a few I want to try but I’m not brave enough to attempt hats yet. Great job. That blue is great on your light hair. I love blue.
Go for it! Hats really are not that difficult to do. Most designers do a good job explaining how to decrease. This particular pattern assumes that you know how.
Love it! Loved it so much after seeing your first one, I ordered the magazine just to make it! Thanks for your Rav notes…I would have given up (or made a mess of it) if I attempt this without help
Great hat! And thanks for the decreasing tips as noted on your blog! I have the book with the pattern. I’ll copy/paste/print your notes and put them in my book hat page!
I love the soft blue Malabrigo! It really complements your hair, and the design! I’ll bet it feels sooooo good on your head!!!
