FO: Booga for Mom

Hey guys–here’s the booga I made for mom for her birthday (which is tomorrow!). Had I made this for myself, I’d have chosen a different color scheme but I was going for neutral since I know that’s what mom likes. It’s the original pattern in Noro 149. I don’t think I felted it as long as others have, but I like the outcome as is.

That looks like a VERY expensive bag. :x:
You’ve got a lucky Mom.

(You look good too.)

hehe thanks–I was in travel mode–hair pulled back, blue jeans and old ratty tee-shirt!

I really hope she likes it–she was on the trip with me this weekend and it was hard to work on it at first b/c she kept asking questions! “What’s that…just practice stitches really…” Later…“It’s kind of starting to look like a bag…humm…your right, maybe I’ll experiment with trying to make it into a bag-good idea mom” All the while DH was trying not to laugh!

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

Love it!!!

And the bag looks GREAT!!!

Great job on the bag! Love the color! Don’t you just love Noro? It’s my favorite!

Lovin’ your mom’s booga…and so will she :cheering: :cheering:

Looks great! Fabulous job!

Love the bag! (And the story of your sly knitting!)

How do you knit in the car?!? I would be ill all over my work. :help: I get so carsick – I can’t even read a grocery list in the car, or it’s all over.

This was the first time I had really knitted in the car and it went well–I was a little nervous at first–I’m unable to read or write so I was surprised that the knitting didn’t bother me. My dh is VERY easily car sick too–just riding does it to him–he usually takes anti-nausea medicine just to take a 4 hour drive! It’s a good thing I was able to work on it b/c that’s really how I got it done on time–the prior week I had hardly touched b/c work was so busy and I was so exhausted when I got home in the evenings.

And yes–I do love the Noro–Eventually I’m going to make another one for me but I want to make the toshiko first b/c it looks like a good knitting tote.

Thanks for all of the kind comments!

OOOOOH! You are a SNIKKY SNIKKY one, you are!! :rofling:

Booga looks FANTASTIC!

Oooooh, it’s gorgeous!! :inlove: :inlove:

I love that Noro–the earthy colors felted really nicely!

You did it! Yay!!!

:cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

Those were the neutral colors I was looking for when I did my booga bag! I love it. I ended up using Noro #55 and it’s pretty, but it has some blue in it. Your mom is going to love it!

That is gorgeous!! Love it!

The bag looks great! Let us know how your mom liked it!
I had to take a road trip last week for about a 3 hour drive and I also took my knitting with me. I was surprised I could knit and not get car sick, until we got onto some back twisting, turning roads, then I had to stop

thanks guys–mom’s bday is today but she’s sick and I have a class to teach this evening so I’m not sure if I’ll get to see her today–I’ll let you guys know how she liked it!

It looks wonderful she will love it!!! :roflhard: with her asking you questions great cover up!!

When we get ready to drive home dh says you have something to do?? … LOL if I don’t have something to work on I drive him crazy with you are a little close to that car… ohh did you see that… or grabbing his thigh when a semi passes so now he demands I knit in the car :rofling:

Lucky you, Dustina! My dh complains when I knit in the car; he gets bored because I’m not talking much.

Ah knitting while traveling. Isn’t it great? The best is on a train. My son and his dad both get carsick if they read in the car too. I never hear of such a thing before. No one in my family or anyone I knew got carsick. Oh well, Ilike your sneakyness with yer mum. Great lookin bag

:cheering: it’s gorgeous! congrats!!! :cheering:
you look so cute in the pic!
I’m jealous, I can’t knit in the car, even on a completely straight road w/ cruise control set, I get nauseous.

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

Jodi–I know what you meant–but a first it almost made it sound like you’re driving too! Just for the record…I don’t knit and drive!

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:
