FO - BFF Socks

Just finished ANOTHER project! Go me! This will hopefully be a productive summer as far as knitting goes!

These are my BFF Socks, a Cookie A pattern that you can find in her book Knit. Sock. Love.

The yarn is Happy Feet. I bought it in Seattle, WA, two years ago when my family went on a cruise to Alaska. There was yarn in EVERY port, I kid you not!

The yarn was great to work with…good thing because I had to frog the first sock after I’d turned the heel and realized it was too big (went down to a size 0 needle and the XS sock size, which made the socks fit perfectly afterward), and I also had to frog the second sock after finishing the leg portion because somewhere along the line, I’d started doing the cable round on the wrong round number! Ugh. Sometimes it’s the simplest patterns that can throw us the most!

Anyhoo, I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Great socks! You used a really nice color too.

they look terrific!!! Love the color, great for fall~~

Thanks ladies! I was thinking about Autumn when I purchased the yarn! Just love the color!!

You say you bought the yarn in Seattle. That might cause a problem. In this part of the country socks expect to be worn with sandals. When nobody’s watching, you might find that they move into the closet with your sandals. Consider yourself warned.

:roflhard:

Socks and Sandals
It just happens to be an insurance commercial. I won’t have insurance with them but I do like their commercials.

Beautiful socks and a perfect fit too. I agree, wonderful color and pattern. What a fabulous cruise with yarn in every port!

Great socks!! I love the pattern!!

GG, your video link isn’t working.

I came back to this thread to admire the socks some more and saw this. It works for me. I don’t know why it wouldn’t for you. In case you’d like to try again, I’ll just copy/paste it. That might fix for you. I’ve tried links that didn’t work but they seemed to for everyone else.

If that doesn’t work, and you’re still interested, put sandals & socks guy in the youtube search bar, it’s by NorthWest Types. It’s just a silly commercial but kind of funny, in a NW kind of way.

Ah. Now that link worked for me. Odd. Oh, and that commercial was funny.

I’m glad it worked. If you like that you might like the goat herder guy one. People here do wear socks with sandals. I’m not sure they do anywhere else.

Ha ha ha! Cute video! We definitely do not wear socks AND sandals in Florida!!!:roflhard:

Beautiful socks, Auburnchick! You almost . . . almost inspire me to make another pair of socks! Nyah, I stomped on the sock bug a while back cuz he just don’t do much for me.

Socks and sandals sound like a recipe for cold feet to me–especially if I wore them in rainy weather and got my socks saturated. Well, they might be okay if I was wearing wool, but wool next to my skin itches like crazy.

Well, that’s a first. I usually DO or DON’T inspire people!

:roflhard:

This pattern was SO EASY that I highly recommend that you go for it!!

I’ve already cast on for my next pair…

Oh WOW. Those are so beautiful, and colorful, and interesting! I also appreciate your excellent modeling and photography! I don’t know why I’ve never tried to knit a single solitary sock or mitten or gauntlet! Do I have fear of small items? I dunno. But I’m totally sockless, and feeling out-in-the cold! :teehee:

You do such great work! And thanks for posting the photos!

Awww…thank you!! :muah:

I’m very proficient at knitting socks. Sweaters…not so much. Think I’m going to private message you for some help with a sweater I want to make before my summer ends…

Great socks! And the commercial that GG posted is great, too!

Here in Lake Tahoe lots of folks do socks and sandals. Birkenstocks, too, but I guess they don’t count.

Really? I thought it was just a Seattle and surrounding areas thing. :roflhard: Toe socks are for wearing with flip flops ya know.

Auburnchick’s socks are so beautiful I’d have to wear them just at home with no shoes or sandals so I could admire them and take them off before they could get dirty. I like making socks but I’m simply not in the same league.
