FO - Baby Ugg - singular

Last night I attempted to make one just using some leftover Red Heart worsted I had.

It came out much to large for an infant, but now I see how it’s done. I’m not sure the “plush substitute” I bought is quite right although it seems to look okay for the most part. My biggest complaint is having to seam. Seaming bites. Fortunately babies who would wear these aren’t walking, but I can’t help but feel that you could get this look with a seamless boot type bootie pattern. Must be one out there. This one won’t get a mate most likely. I hate that yarn and it’s not soft. Looks cute though doesn’t it?

Jan it is adorable! I hate seaming too!

That is so cute! I love these little boots…if my best friend ever has a kiddo…she’s getting a pair of these!!!

Very cute!

It is very cute! Even though it was made with the yarn that the pattern was not called for, it still is very, very cute!! :inlove:

That looks great!!

mine didn’t get a mate either. once i realized how big it was there was no point because by the time my baby could fit it would be summer!

I love it! I think it looks great considering you didn’t use the yarn that was the original pattern. It looks almost as good as the original. The plush subtitute looks VERY good, what did you use?

Thanks everyone!

Carmen I used Joann’s Sensation Icee. I’d post a link, but they don’t have it on the website.

That’s adorable! I tried one with some substitute yarns too, and it too turned out way too large. LOL But they’re cute nonetheless!

I think that is the best baby bootie pattern! It looks wonderful, even if it’s destined to be a single.

That is soooooo CUTE!!! I called my girls in to look at it and my ear drum is now pierced thanks to their high squeals of cuteness. I wanted another piercing, but I was prefering out external hole! :roflhard:

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

Thanks everyone!

It really is adorable Jan!

Oh that’s so sweet!

What IS the recommended yarn for it?

Berroco Suede
Berroco Plush
It’s usually about $9-10 a ball. Kind of a lot for booties, hence the reason I’m looking for alternatives.
Baby Uggs Pattern

That’s adorable! I just showed my daughter that boot (she’s 8). I’ve been (slowly) working on an Ugg purse for her made with the very same yarn. All I need to do is seam it and do the lining and seaming, but I’ve been sidetracked by other projects!

 Ok, I’m just going to throw my 2 cents in here.

Has anyone done this pattern in wool and felted it??? I’m too chicken otherwise I’d giver a try.

I think it would be really cute and would wear well PLUS it would shrink.

It is really cute though.

I haven’t done it in wool… but I am currently doing it in Lion Suade… on size 3 needles. ouch…

The wool and felting would give me pause because it might be too scratchy for a wee baby. And also… wee baby + tons of mess = not long lasting uggs.
