Here’s a pair I just made for my baby girl. No pattern, just the basic sock pattern and this really simple lace.
Sorry, I have no idea what it’s called, but it’s worked over 9 stitches and in the round it’s like this:
1: p1, k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k2tog tbl, k1, p1
2: p1, k7, p1
3: p1, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, k2tog tbl, p1
4: p1, k7, p1

They are really cute. Good idea to put them on top of tights it really shows up the stitch pattern.
Am I right in thinking that if you have a pattern for the basic socks you just substitute the pattern for the basic rib stitch or what ever. Still trying to finish my first pair of socks for me.

Well I have no idea whether that’s the ‘right’ way to do it, it just sounds logical to me so that’s how I do it. 
Also, in the back of the leg I decrease a few stitches just before starting the heel section to get a better fit.
They’re done on 2,5mm needles. Isn’t that 1,5US?
