My dh’s daughter is having a baby this week (being induced tomorrow). So I made my first little layette (man, I am so bummed I wasn’t a knitter when I was pregnant. I wish my boys had had little goodies like this.)
There are separate pics of each item on my blog. This is a diagonal garter stitch blanket in Rowan Soft Baby (a super-soft wool blend), Children’s Cotton Hat from LMKG, Child’s Placket-Neck Sweater from LMKG, Picky Pants from Little Turtle Knits, and Dreambaby Booties from fabulousyarn.com, all in Bernat cottontots.
I haven’t blocked the blanket yet, but otherwise it’s ready to go (we’ll go down and see the baby in 2 weeks). There are a couple of small wonky places in the sweater and pants, but otherwise I am crazy-happy with the set.
how cute! you know, I’m pregnant and I had all of these visions of the cute things this baby would have but it’s too damn hot to knit! Maybe I"ll be more inspired in a few weeks when things cool off down here!
Labor has been going on all freakin’ day and they finally took her in for a C-section about an hour ago after she didn’t make any real progress for several hours.
Still waiting to hear something…
eta: babe arrived safe and sound at 10:26p.m., 7 lbs. 12 oz., 19.5". Mama and baby are doing well.
