I made these for my DSD’s best friend. Had a heck of a time choosing yarn because apparently she wanted muted blue or brown. I told her that there are a million different colors of yarn in those colors. We decided on this blue. Baby is a girl and I’ll post a pic of the baby in them if I get one. I suspect they’ll be a bit large so it may be awhile.
This is a great pattern, but I didn’t like the way she did the sleeves. I put them on waste yarn and did them like regular sleeves. I also used a 7 stitch border instead of 8 and changed the button hole to be more centered. You can’t tell from the photo.

Both are darling patterns. I love the edging on the booties cuff.
The only thing I dislike more than knitting booties,
is knitting them on DPNs.
:teehee: I actually hear that all the time. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones who’s purling is the same tension as my knitting.
I would prefer to do them magic loop or even two circs, but those were…uhhh busy in another project so I had to resort to DPNs. It’s a small project so it wasn’t too bad. I didn’t have enough of that size at one point though so I through in a 5 and it worked out fine.
Oh Jan! Oh Jan! Adorable baby sweater and booties! I really do love them! Makes me wish my great-grand (due in June) was gonna be a girl…I love knitting for little girls…but that’s prolly cuz 7 of our 10 grands are girls…
