When I saw this little baby Kimono last year (maybe longer) that Jan had knit that is when I knew I wanted to learn to knit! Once I learned I then set out to make it! It’s cute, I’m pleased with it but I may try it again in a different yarn. I used Bernat’s Cottontots which wasn’t what it called for but had it on hand so gave it a shot. Jan used Caron’s Simply Soft and when my order comes in I might just do another!
(By the way, thanks Jan … you started it!!) :woot:
it’s soooo adorable! I need a little something for an infant. How long did it take you and can you tell us where we can find the pattern?
Also, what size did you make?
Thanks!
Jen
Thanks Jen! I don’t know exactly how long it took … I’ll guess at around a month. I work full time so I would knit in the evenings, lunch time and in the car on the drive home! I was also working on a charity blanket during that time so it probably takes less time (and I’m a beginner … I may be sloooow!). As JanCA mentioned the pattern is in Mason Dixon Knitting. It’s a one pice project so you just have to sew up the 2 sides/arms! As for size, it’s newborn.
Jan, thanks for telling me/us that the pattern was from Mason Dixon! I really need to buy that book one of these days…in the mean time I’ll call the library!
Thanks Gina, like I said to Jan, I’m getting the book from the libary like she did and I will probably be knitting it in the car also! I’m knitting another sweater for a baby gift and I’m always knitting in the car! If I didn’t, I would never have any FO’s, LOL!!
