FO: Baby Kimono

When I saw this little baby Kimono last year (maybe longer) that Jan had knit that is when I knew I wanted to learn to knit! Once I learned I then set out to make it! It’s cute, I’m pleased with it but I may try it again in a different yarn. I used Bernat’s Cottontots which wasn’t what it called for but had it on hand so gave it a shot. Jan used Caron’s Simply Soft and when my order comes in I might just do another!

(By the way, thanks Jan … you started it!!) :woot:

Oh my gosh, Gina! It’s adorable! You did a wonderful job! :yay:

That is adorable Gina. Great job.

it’s soooo adorable! I need a little something for an infant. How long did it take you and can you tell us where we can find the pattern?
Also, what size did you make?
Thanks!
Jen

Very nice! I come here to post a pic of my baby kimono, and what do I see? Your very pretty kimono!

Jen, the pattern is in Mason Dixon Knitting. I got it from my library.

oh goodness is that adorable!!!

So cute! And good for you - great knitting!

Another adorable kimono! Love the blue, and the little ribbon tie.

So cute !! love it

Thanks Jen! I don’t know exactly how long it took … I’ll guess at around a month. I work full time so I would knit in the evenings, lunch time and in the car on the drive home! I was also working on a charity blanket during that time so it probably takes less time (and I’m a beginner … I may be sloooow!). As JanCA mentioned the pattern is in Mason Dixon Knitting. It’s a one pice project so you just have to sew up the 2 sides/arms! As for size, it’s newborn.

:inlove: very pretty!

ow that’s soo cute!!!:inlove:

Aw, that is beautiful! I think a kimono would be great for a boy or girl. Did you put ties on the inside too?

so adorable! I LOVE THE COLORS!!! :muah:

Thanks! I did put ties on the inside. Didn’t really care for sewing the ties on but they sure look cute!

Jan, thanks for telling me/us that the pattern was from Mason Dixon! I really need to buy that book one of these days…in the mean time I’ll call the library!

Jen

Thanks Gina, like I said to Jan, I’m getting the book from the libary like she did and I will probably be knitting it in the car also! I’m knitting another sweater for a baby gift and I’m always knitting in the car! If I didn’t, I would never have any FO’s, LOL!!
Jen
