I just finished an Aran sweater for my sister-in-law. It was worked from the top down with set in sleeves that were worked along with the body because I don’t like sewing seams, especially fitted sleeves. I was completely winging it while deciding where and how to do the increases. Here is a close up of the sleeves in progress:
