Finally finished… all that ribbing about killed me, but it was worth it.
After it was finished, I gasp felted it a tiny bit by throwing it in a hot dryer for about 5 minutes while it was damp. I think it gave it a more authentic vintage look (besides, it shrunk up the HUGE bell sleeves). It’s not really felted, it just has an older look. I still have to find that perfect sterling stick pin for it though.
That is so pretty! I agree about the fleting - it does make it look a little more vintage. Great job!

I supplied my own yarn. I had a handspun wool/mohair that was perfect for it anyway. I’ve knit Bella too, that was more enjoyable to knit than Angelina, but I think Angie is a nicer finished project. I love them both though! Gotta love those white lies designs!

I used a handspun yarn… no name, just something handspun. It’s a DK weight. The body was knit on size 5s, the lace is done on size 5s, 7s, and 10s.
The pattern is VERY EASY. The lace pattern is easy and the bell shaping is achieved by just increasing the needle size. There’s no increasing or decreasing on the lace. The whole piece has very simple construction and only two seams… underarms and sides (which are short). It’s knit in one peice from lower back, up over shoulders (including sleeves) and down the front. When it’s finished and you put it on for the first time, the curvy shape is stunning and so misleading given the simple construction. The design is really brilliant.
Only edit I made was I graduated the sleeve increases a bit more than what the pattern called for. More about that here on my blog.
