FO: A fuzzy hat

Hi, I added a thread about this hat and it disappeared… Unless I clicked preview and closed the tab. Anyway, short version is:

It’s still warm, but we will need hats soon. The yarn is soft chenille, the pattern was born in the process.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cute hat and looks like it will be really warm for her when the snows come.

Very cute and warm looking!

What a terrific photo of an adorable hat. It looks right at home among the cleome. It will be most welcome in the coming cold, 'm sure.

Thank you! That flowerbed happened to be next to the playground

Well, that is the perfect backdrop for this hat, amazing how things work out sometimes. Great hat, and chenille is so soft. Is it starting to get cold yet where you live?

Thanks! It was warm but raining today but my daughter decided to wear her new hat instead of a hood to school  She also told me that “she let people touch her hat” (Aww). The (6-year-old) people said "it was sooo fuuuzzy’

A wonderful hat for a beautiful girl! It was nice of her to let others touch it, it just looks so soft and nice to touch. Having her choose the hat to wear…priceless.

Ooooohhh, that’s yummy!

Really cute hat, and your daughter is a sweetheart!

Nice little hat! I sorta reminds me of a cloche style hat!

I purchased some gorgeous handpainted chenille yarn many years ago…and what a train wreck! I admire your ability to knit with chenille. I never did master it! I ended up crocheting a scarf with part, and giving away the rest.

Thanks! I think the secret is the needles. I use 5 mm, very smooth needles with rather sharp points. At this point I also prefer natural fibers but sometimes I still can can do acrylic. I also have a strange addiction to single-ply yarns so maybe this explains my tolerance for chenille
