I’m a fairly confident knitter but I’m very confused by an instruction in my pattern. It’s got a heart pattern which I’ve almost completed, the instruction is:
CH (Close heart) SUploading: 17093857276871963495387621939270.jpg… lip next 3 stitches to right hand needle* slip 2nd of these stitches over first stitch, slip this stitch back onto left hand needle, slip second stitch on left hand needle over this stitch** slip this stitch back to right hand needle repeat from* to ** once more leaving one stitch on left hand needle, knit this stitch.
I can’t get my head round it! Any help would be very gratefully received
Flummoxed!
Welcome to KH!
This involves a lot of toing and froing with the stitches on the needles but I think that if you take it step by step it’ll work out.
1.Slip next 3 stitches from the left to the right hand needle
2.slip 2nd stitch over first stitch (the first stitch is the one closest to the right hand needle tip)
3. slip the stitch that remains on the right hand needle (the one closest to the needle tip) back onto left hand needle,
4.slip second stitch on left hand needle over this stitch (“this stitch” is the stitch closest to the tip of the left hand needle)
5.slip this stitch back to right hand needle
6. repeat from* to ** once more (that is repeat from step 2 to step 4) leaving one stitch on left hand needle, knit it.
It’s a lovely heart design. What is the name of your pattern and designer?
Ah thank you so much, cracked it! Really helpful. It’s a sirdar pattern, 4494 dress or sweater, very pretty.I’m almost glad I got stuck, I’d have never found this fab site otherwise!
We are all glad you found this site too.
Good to see you’re back on track, I hope you’ll, share a pic of your project when you’re finished.
Oh, good going! It’s a darling pattern.
Thanks for finding and joining us. We’d love to see a photo when you finish.
