Fitted Top Questions

Hi everyone,
I have a pattern for Lion Brand Fitted Top using Vanna’s Choice Glamour yarn, but I don’t quite understand this part of the pattern:

Cast on 93 (105, 117, 129, 141) sts. Work in K3, p3 Rib until piece measures 10 (11, 12, 13, 14) in. (25.5 (28, 30.5, 33, 35.5) cm) from beg, end with a RS row.
Shape Right Front
Row 1 (WS): Work in Rib as established across 51 (57, 63, 69, 75) sts only, slip rem 42 (48, 54, 60, 66) sts onto a holder.
Row 2 (neck dec): K3, p3, k3, p2tog, work in Rib to end – 50 (56, 62, 68, 74) sts rem at end of this row.
Rep last row (neck dec) every 4 rows 17 more times, AT THE SAME TIME, when piece measures 12 (13, 14, 15, 16) in. (30.5 (33, 35.5, 38, 40.5) cm) from beg, end with a RS row and shape armhole as follows

Does the pattern mean for me to continue to just knit the K3 P3 rib and then do the decrease row or does it mean to knit Row 1 and Row 2 17 times? Thank you for any help. Here the link to the pattern. You need a lion brand account to view pattern.

You only do R 2 once every 4 rows. So work 3 rows of the rib stitch pattern, then the dec row, 3 rows of rib, dec rows, etc until you’ve done 18 dec row (the original and 17 more).

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi!
as you can see, the whole top is ribbed. Therefore all rows (no matter if they decrease or not) will be done in rib pattern.

work the neckline decrease, and then relatively soon, you also do the arm hole decrease so that forms that “shim” running up to your shoulder.
