Fisherman's Shrug Edit

I just started working on this patternfrom Lion Brand and I’m kind of confused about where they say to:
Row 1 Knit.
Row 2 Purl.
Cont in St st, inc 1 st at each edge every 6th row (on Knit row) three times. Work until piece measures 8 (10) in. 44 (48) sts.

Call me crazy, but aren’t the knit rows all odd numbers? I assume you also don’t count the first two rows in the 6 rows, which would make it a total of 8 rows before the first increases, correct?
I know they made some corrections to this pattern a while back, but is this another error, or am I counting from 1-6 from the wrong row?

Thanks,
Wendy

You’re right to be confused. The odd numbers are the knit rows.

I’d increase on the 7th, 13th, and 19th. It won’t make a difference in the long run.

I figured that would be the best way to go.
If I did it backwards, with a purl round first so that the knit rows were the even rows, would that make a difference in the overall pattern?

Possibly not, but it might drive you crazy when you get to a section of the pattern where they have it right…

I agree, it could get confusing. Believe me on this, one row different for an increase like that will not ever be a problem.
