Fisherman Shrug from Knit It!

Just in case anyone else is thinking of knitting this shrug, which was on the cover of Knit It! (and featured on the Lionbrand site http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/50718.html ), check for pattern corrections before you start. I had already practically finished it when I found out there were major corrections, aaaarrghhh. I’m deciding whether to frog it or toss it and start another one…

I wondered why the diagram of the sleeve looked so different from the pattern  .

I am so glad you posted this! I saw this on the cover of "Knit It! "a couple days ago at Michael’s and wanted to make it -but didn’t see anything else I wanted to knit in the magazine so I didn’t buy it. I’m so glad to know I can get the (corrected) pattern for free! YAH! Thanks!

And its always good to know about mistakes ahead of time

Ohh that’s gorgeous!! :inlove:

Ohhh I am glad you posted this I bought that magazine because I wanted to knit that!

Thankfully there are other things in there worth making as well.

thanks for posting. i have been wanting to knit this!

I was just looking at that pattern too! It’s so beautiful. So, did you frog it or what? You didn’t mention exactly what the errors are, is that easy to figure out? I wonder if the magazine has posted corrections yet? hmmmmmmm

Sorry, I just noticed these replies (I’ve been painting the house all week). Go to the site listed in my first post, the entire pattern is available on-line in it’s corrected form  . I haven’t broken down the corrections yet, but the diagram in the magazine shows an irregular sleeve shape: the instructions in the magazine give you symmetrical sleeves. I was able to sew my pieces up with some serious scrunching, but had been wondering whether it would be bunchy there… should have KNOWN to check on such a big discrepancy. I am going to frog and start over after I finish my Einstein and a new class project from my LYS, the foothills vest from Mountain Colors.

Thanks so much Silveridger… appreciate it. You sure are busy!

You’re inspiring me to get serious here…

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS

i almost started this tonite from the magazine pattern

now i know better

oh cool, thank you! I just bought this yesterday, liking the shrug (and being a magazine whore!) Not that I will actually KNIT it, but it’s ncie to pretend that I will… and have the correct pattern just in case…
