I’ve nearly finished knitting a fish and chip baby jumper. I’m just using navy worsted and the pattern is done in one piece, then folded over and stitched, so it’s easy.

The jumper is designed for fish and chip babies, a name given to babies in Africa, many of them suffering from Aids who leave hospital wrapped only in newspaper as if they were just fish and chips.
I’ll post photos as soon as I can, but here is a link to some pictures of completed jumpers and a couple before being sewn up:

I had never heard of it, but I have to say - nothing like I imagined. I thought it would be some kind of Halloweencostume… Any idea why this jumper is called after such a famous English food combination?

I typed FISH AND CHIP JUMPER in the Pattern Search at Ravelry…and the free pattern popped up!
