First time making a jumper help

The next part of the pattern reads-

Next row (ws): Rib 2 [6:5:2:4], rib2tog, (rib 5 [5:4:5:5], rib2tog) 11 [11:15:15:15] times, rib 1 [5:5:1:3].
70 [78:86:94:98] sts.

I am working the 4th size. I understand that rib 2 means to k or p the next x amount of stitches. I understand rib2tog is a decrease. I’m confused with what I repeat 15 times, as there’s not enough sts to repeat the whole thing 15 times. This is my first big project, I started knitting on 18th December 2021. My great Aunty taught me the craft at 15 but I never took it up properly, until my grandma said she wanted a hat, so I thought I’d pick the needles up and see what I could do.

Welcome to the forum!
That’s so nice of you to pick up the needles again and make this hat for your grandmother. I’m sure she’ll love it just because you thought to make it.
Did you start with 110sts? That would work out to 94sts remaining after 16 total decreases. The repeat is within the parentheses: (rib 5, rib2tog) 15x.

It was the best thing I did. I’ve loved it and develop my skills quickly. She absolutely loved it! It was a bit loose though, so ended up making her another and that’s much better. I did start with 110 sts. Brilliant - thank you so much! That’s really helped me! Thank you so much

Yes, it can be a bit of trial and error. Glad you made it work in the end!
