These would be my first attempt at socks, which I am using for slippers because they’re so thick I don’t think they’d fit under my shoes!
But they are warm.
Pay no attention to the swollen ankles. lol!

They are beautiful! I love the yarn – what is it? Great job – I can’t believe they’re your first socks!
Thanks!
Ya know, I have no idea what the yarn is. I think it may be some Lion Brand? My mother had some in her stash, she was always knitting slippers with it.

Pretty!
Those are so pretty!! Great job! :yay: :yay:
I bet they are warm and cozy.
:yay: I really like those colors. Great first job! Congrats! :yay:
Very nice! Have you thought about putting them on slipper pads so they last longer?
:happydance: They look wonderful! :happydance:
Thank you MadDeb. Thats a very good idea, about the slipper pads. My mother did that sometimes with the slippers she knit.
Wow Sue
I can’t believe there your first socks!! They look great x
Those look really good for your first socks! Nice colors too.
Thanks everybody. Those sock instructions in “Silver’s Sock Class” are very, very good instructions!
Great job! I have yet to do my first pair of socks.
I
them! I think it’s a wonderful colour you’ve picked. Thank you for sharing your first socks with us
Or add duplicate stitch to the bottoms, especially the bottoms of the heels and the balls of the feet. That will make them last longer, too, if you aren’t going to wear them with shoes. I never wear mine with shoes,
They look so warm and cozy. Great job!
MADDEB, Where can one find slipper pads? I only heard the tip of using puff paint on the bottoms the other day but this sounds like a great idea. I have had a stroke and am very clumsy these days. I would make slippers all the time if I could wear them without slipping!
