I’ve knitted this for a Christmas present for my friend, Maggie, in England who has lots of antiques displayed in her home. I’m thinking this would be nice on a table with one of her tea sets. Lace and I haven’t gotten along in the past, but I stuck with this and actually finished with only a couple of mistakes (that I hid). It’s 20" in diameter and it’s from the book Old World Treasures by Gloria Penning. I actually enjoyed this a great deal more than I thought I would and I’m now trying to decide which pattern I may start next. Very interesting knitting project as every other row is different. I don’t know the name of the yarn I used…it was a 2-ply shiny cotton in a knitting basket I won on Ebay so I’m not really sure what it is. It’s not really easy to see the design but maybe it’ll show up OK.
Beautiful, I have not tried lace yet, maybe one day soon.
Oh wow! This is divine work!!!
Beautiful! :yay:
It’s lovely! Beautiful work.
Thanks, guys! It’s dried now and I’ve starched and ironed it, and it really does look good (as I pat myself on the back ). The crochet edge looks weird, but the directions said to sc 3 stitches together six times, then sc 3 stitches tog 2 times, which is what I did. I don’t know why it was like that, but that’s the way it was written. It’s not an exact circle, but it can be maneuvered around better than what I’m showing.
WOW - it turned out so beautiful!!! What a labor of love!! Congrats on an awesome lace project!
[B]WOW!!! That’s a really ambitious lace project.

Great Job! I can’t believe that’s your first lace project … it turned out fabulous! I’m sure your friend will love it, it sounds like it will be perfect for her :cheering:
