I’ve been knitting since the beginning of August, and I wanted to show some of the things I’ve done so far. The Fetching was the first thing I finished. I used Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran.

This pattern is the reason I encourage new knitters to find a pattern and go for it. It doesn’t matter what it is, you can do it. If you don’t like the way it’s turning out, rip it out, and try again. I finished both gloves in a weekend. I was my first time doing almost everything. Firsts on this project, knitting in the round, using DPNs, purling, ribbing, cabling, binding off, picot bind off, cable cast-on. I think that’s it. If you’ve seen my bag from one of the other posts, that was the first thing I started, but didn’t get very far before I started Fetching (I got bored). But since then, I’ve been a monogamous knitter. Right now I’m doing knitted toys for the nephews, two of them (turtle and snake) only lack stuffing and sewing up. The third is a horse, and I want to have the knitting done before this weekend is over. But I also want to go Goodwill yarn shopping this weekend. So much knitting to do, so little time.
