First fair isle

I can’t believe how smoothly this went- took about 3 hours. I really enjoyed making this.

Cute! Congrats on the first fair isle! :cheering:

Cool hat! :cheering:

:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: Great job! I’d never be able to finish that in 3 hours!

Wow nice!

Very nice indeed! Isn’t fair isle fun?!

WOW Only 3 HOURS!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: I haven’t done Fair Isle yet but even if I had, I don’t think I could do it in 3 hours.

:muah:

Awesome! How long have you been knitting? I haven’t tried fair-isle yet, but maybe someday I will tackle it.

That’s great! I love doing fair isle!

wow - 3 hours?! you are ninja fast! great job!

I started knitting in December 2005. What can I say, when the little one takes a long nap, you can really knit! :happydance:

That is really cute. Good Job! :cheering:

I’ve been wanting to try fair-isle. Does anyone know of a free scarf pattern? Btw, that hat is really cute! :muah:

I love that hat pattern…it is so groovy. I’m thinking about doing one in a self striping or variegated yarn and a solid yarn. Could look pretty cool.

ooooohhhh…I LOVE that hat but am so afriad of it!!! Fair Isle kind of scares me…I’ve never tried it.

hydeemarie: The pattern for this hat is free on

You are the fair isle ninja!!! :teehee:

Anyway, great job! I’ve only done a little fair isle swatch, but isn’t it so much fun?

ooooohhhh…I LOVE that hat but am so afriad of it!!! Fair Isle kind of scares me…I’ve never tried it.
I was a little scared of it it too- but it went so fast, and I really liked it. First time I read a chart, too. :roflhard:

As with almost everything I do, I think I tried fair isle before I could to garter. I always jump into things and get way over my head. But like everything else, one stitch at a time, it isn’t too bad.

However, the whole doing it in 3 hours is the part that made me go :noway:

I hate you. Okay, not really, but I am really envious.

I have been working on that very hat for 3 days. And trust me, it did not look like that. I finally frogged mine yesterday after realizing that knitting in the round, fair isle and double strand were just too much for me to handle in one project. And I am not doing something right, because it was just getting tighter and tighter and I couldn’t really knit anymore…on, like the 4th row of pattern. (the loose yarn on the inside of the hat kept tightening…I need to correct that!).

Your hat is beautiful. And I could just puke that you were able to do that in 3 hours.
