I finished up the base of my bag on the plane coming home Monday. Now I’m doing the cord on my handy dandy cord making thingy. What I noticed about this tool is that the felted cord ends up being more flat than round, but I don’t really mind that because it’s soooooooo fast!
I just wish that the colors were closer together. I actually thought of piecing a bunch of short pieces so I could get all the pretty colors closer together, but I was lazy and didn’t bother.
I think I just may cord up this whole skein and then, when it’s felted, use the leftovers for bracelets with my big honkin’ buttons closing the seam.
Well, it’s drying as we speak. Gosh, it felted really fast and alot smaller than I thought. It’s almost disheartening how you knit something soooooooo big and then it felts down to nothing!
Here’s a picture of the bag drying over a trash bag box, along with the cord, a small bracelet and the little business card holder, which I wish I had made longer because the sides are shorter than I want.
I’m happy, though, with everything and can’t wait for Ms. Booga to dry so I can assemble it.
Blessings,
Leslie
PS: The one good thing about this very hot FL weather is that it’ll dry quick!
Yep, isn’t it disappointing when it comes out of the washer so small? I re-felted mine last night and so now it’s re-drying and barely fits on the box I was using before to block it. Guess it will be more of a “wear on your wrist” kind of bag than a “wear over your shoulder” kind of bag. I think if I make another one, I will use the glorious colorway you used, and also make it much bigger to start!!!
