I completed my first Fair Isle FO today… a simple hat, knit flat then seamed together with mattress stitch along the back.
Here’s me “modeling” it:
And a closeup of the pattern:
I think I could have gotten my stitches a little more even but its not too bad for my first try I think.
It was done in Vanna’s Choice yarn… I didn’t want to splurge for something that I could have possibly screwed up royally :lol
That is a lovely hat - well done too on your first fair isle attempt - good idea to start small!
I love the colors! It’s really beautiful! Did you make up the pattern?
That is amazing for your first Fair Isle. Great job!
I made up the pattern for the hat but the fair isle pattern was pulled directly from Vogue’s Stitchionary 3 … I absolutely LOVE the stitch patterns in that book
:flirt: I love your hat!!
Awesome knitting going on there! :yay: Fair Isle is on my list that, sigh, is simply too long. I think I shall put it at the top of my queue. You inspire me so.

Wow! Great job and I love the colours. Fair Isle is so intimidating, kudos to you for successfully attempting it!
It looks really good on. I love the colors you used in the color work, they look great together.
If you had not mentioned it being your first fair isle project, I would not have known, you did an excellent job

That is very pretty! I want one. Wish it could fit over my hair.
Great job! And you did it flat rather than in the round, that’s even harder!
