Finishing a Poncho

I’m a relatively new knitter. The poncho is for my granddaughter and has a ribbing on the bottom and sides allof which have curled.Do I sew together or block it first in 2 pieces? If it’s blocking I need help as well. Thanks, Lappl22:aww:

Most people who do a lot of blocking like to block before they sew together. You can do the blocking by pinning the item out with rust proof pins spaced quite close together around the edge. Then you can spray the item with cool water until quite damp, then just wait for it to dry. Some fibers don’t get much result from blocking (acrylics for one), but it is worth a try and won’t hurt anything.

The places that will be seamed will have the curling tamed out of them by the seaming. Hopefully the blocking will help or solve the curling on the bottom. If it doesn’t perhaps you will need to pickup stitches around the edge with a long circular needle and add some more rounds of ribbing.

I hope this works out for you somehow.

tHANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP. iT SOUNDS GOOD TO ME.:
